A captopril renal scan is a good screening test for renal artery stenosis, but because primary hyperaldosteronism is the main diagnostic candidate in this patient, this test would not be appropriate. A renal artery duplex Doppler ultrasonography or magnetic resonance angiography could also be used to screen for renal artery stenosis.
