Treatment

The patient underwent a NaCl loading suppression test, which showed a failure to suppress urinary aldosterone excretion to less than 12 µg/24-hr. This confirms the diagnosis of primary hyperaldosteronism.

Subsequently the patient underwent high-resolution computerized tomography, which showed a left-sided, 1.4 cm adrenal mass (Figure 1).
